The printing is not done in a single pass. It is a complex multi-stage

UV-Cured Ink
We use ultra-durable ultraviolet-cured inks that bond permanently to the
substrate. The print never flakes, cracks or fades — even under repeated handling on set.

Raised Intaglio-Style Relief
Using thermal overprinting, the dark areas — portraits and large numerals
— have a palpable raised texture. Run your nail over the surface and you'll feel the ridges, just as on a
genuine note.

🔦 Blacklight Behaviour
Real Bills Don't Glow. Neither Does Ours.
Modern Canadian polymer banknotes contain no UV-fluorescent ink. Under a 365nm blacklight, a genuine bill appears completely dark — this is by design, as the Bank of Canada removed UV security features when it transitioned to the polymer substrate.
Cheap imitations produced with low-grade inks will glow bright blue or white under UV — instantly exposing themselves as poor-quality reproductions. Our prop bills, however, use UV-transparent ink technology that produces zero fluorescence.
With Prop Canada, your prop bill passes the blacklight test — because the real one does too.

Laser-Precision Security Elements
Large Transparent Window
Chemically integrated into the polymer — not cut out, not glued in. The
window is perfectly clear and flush with the note surface, just like the genuine bill.

A laser-applied metallic element with a mirror finish. The colour shifts from
gold to emerald green depending on the angle of observation — spectacular on camera.

Semi-Transparent Ghost Logos
Inside the window, the small numerals ($20, $50, $100) are printed at 50%
opacity — creating the distinctive translucent "ghost" effect of the genuine note.

Maple Leaf Window
The small transparent maple-leaf window is reproduced precisely. It contains a
diffraction filter: point an LED light through it and the hidden number circle appears.

V. Quality Validation
Field Tests — Every Batch
Before any batch ships, it goes through a rigorous battery of tests to ensure
consistent quality, durability and performance on set.
Water Immersion Test
12-hour full immersion. Ink remains completely intact. The bill stays dry to
the touch after wiping — the polymer substrate repels water as designed.

UV Light Test
Under a 365nm UV lamp, the bill stays dark (does not glow like paper or
low-quality reproductions), while the fluorescent security fibres illuminate correctly as designed.

Repeated handling, folding, crumpling and friction testing. The ink, hologram
and surface elements remain intact across hundreds of handling cycles — essential for multi-take shoots.
